FlickerLightsâ„¢ and FlickerCellâ„¢ lights

—Tropical Lights Inc.

MoodLtyeâ„¢ the electronic manufacturing division of Fort Lauderdale-based Tropical Lights, Inc., has introduced the launch of its FlickerLightsâ„¢ and FlickerCellâ„¢ product lines, also known as Ecolytes.

This attractive selection of eco-friendly table lighting replaces real candle flames with incandescent bulbs (rechargeable) or LED (light emitting diode) using standard AA batteries. MoodLyte’s Ecolyte products comply with fire code mandates that prohibit any open flames in restaurants, bars and catering halls.

Using Ecolyte style products, restaurants can now create the same atmosphere as if they were using paraffin wax candles, but for a fraction of the price. The FlickerLights™ and FlickerCell™ Ecolytes further reduces operating costs when compared to wax or liquid paraffin candles and with no COÇ emissions, they are not only cost effective but environmentally friendly as well.

The lights also eliminate potential damage from an open flame, subsequently eliminating any chance damage to tables, menus, napkins and, most importantly, no injuries to customers or staff.

‘ENVIRO-MODE’ on e4 smart digital thermostat

—INNCOM

Niantic, Conn.-based INNCOM’s new, patent-pending ‘ENVIRO-MODE’ thermostat invites guests to participate in hotel sustainability programs. The addition of a green button on the award-winning e4 smart digital thermostat provides a simple, effective means for guests and housekeeping staff to activate a temperature setback. And beyond reducing energy consumption and costs, it provides an opportunity for hotels to promote themselves as being eco-friendly.

The benefits of the ‘ENVIRO-MODE’ include demonstrating to prospective guests that a property is eco-friendly; is a low cost way to reduce energy usage and operating costs; it provides housekeepers with a convenient, efficient method of setting the temperature back in unoccupied or unrented rooms; and it can be used to identify guests who are likely to participate in other environment programs.

Addingthe ‘ENVIRO-MODE’ option to the e4 smart digital thermostatcan be accomplished simply and with only a minimal investment. The system will be available in one of three ways: 1) as a digital thermostat, 2) as part of a stand-alone energy-management system, and 3) as the room controller of a centrally-controlled system powered by INNCOM’s INNControl II software. Guests also can activate the hotel’s green program from any of the INNCOM Decorator or Designer Series programmable switches and from the touch screen on the INNCOM GDA.

Production is under way and the system will be available for shipment in the fourth quarter of this year. For more information, visit the company’s Web site at www.inncom.com.
