Four Winds Opens With Fully-Automated Poker Room
PokerTek exclusively selected to create completely digital room with its PokerPro® and PokerPro® Heads-Up™ tables
The newly-opened Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Mich., run by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, features a fully-automated poker room, run exclusively with automated poker tables from PokerTek Inc.
The Matthews, N.C.-based company installed 15 PokerPro® 10-seat tables and four of its newer Heads Up™ tables.
PokerTek’s 10-seat PokerPro® is a fully-automated poker table on which poker games are played with virtual cards and gaming chips, but without a live dealer. PokerPro® shuffles, deals, splits pots and generates side pots instantly. The system increases poker room revenue by dealing 50 percent to 60 percent more hands per hour than a manual table. It also reduces overhead by requiring fewer staff.
The PokerPro® Heads Up™ tables are two-seat automated tables that allow head to head play. They operate with the same technology as the original PokerPro® tables, but allow casinos to offer heads-up poker.

The property’s poker room will offer limit and no limit Texas Hold’em cash games, limit and pot limit Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo cash games, and single and multi-table tournaments with a variety of buy-ins. Players can also play to win seats into major events and compete in heads-up tournaments on one of the four PokerPro® Heads-Up™ tables.

PokerTek has also been active with installations in Macau, most recently with five PokerPro® tables being added to the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino.
