Harrah’s IT head nets big honor
Tim Stanley named Information Week’s CIO of the year; company also nets #40 spot on magazine’s top 500
Las Vegas-based Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. announced that Tim Stanley has been named Information Week’s Chief of the Year. Stanley received the honor for his role as Harrah’s CIO and senior vice president of innovation, gaming and technology.
In this capacity, Stanley has led the company’s enterprise information technology, gaming and innovation functions, and he has served as the visionary behind the company’s innovation efforts across the globe.
“Tim has done a wonderful job of propelling Harrah’s to the forefront of technology and building a World-Class IT organization that has successfully delivered strong business value for our enterprise. Our presence on the list of Most Innovative Companies affirms Tim’s vision and our ongoing efforts in continuously delivering iterative and breakthrough innovations that help differentiate our company,” said Gary Loveman, chairman, CEO and president of Harrah’s Entertainment.

He is well deserving of Information Week’s prestigious ‘Chief of the Year’ honor, and we are very proud to have him lead our technology and innovation efforts,” Loveman added.
The magazine also ranked Harrah’s as the 40th best company on its list of the 500 Most Innovative Companies. This list is comprised of the nation’s most forward-thinking companies and documents business-technology strategies, investments and practices of information technology.
