AMERISTAR CASINOS
Greg Manthei has been named financial controller for Ameristar Council Bluffs in Iowa. In this capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting, and will supervise employees in that operation. He joins Ameristar from Dolce International Conference Destinations, where he served as controller of its GE Learning Center in Ossining, N.Y.
Michael Shelton has been named vice president of finance for Ameristar Casino Council Bluffs. He comes to the property from its sister property in St. Charles, Mo., where he served as the property's controller for two years. He has been in Council Bluffs since May, filling in as the interim vice president of the property.
Darryl "Dax" S. Turok has been named corporate vice president of development. He will join the company's other corporate vice president of development, Steve Eisner, to pursue growth opportunities for the company. Prior to joining Ameristar, Turok served as president of the financial consulting firm Remdon Enterprises.
Misty Willburn has been promoted to director of regulatory compliance for Ameristar Council Bluffs. In this capacity, she will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. She will also train employees on compliance issues.
LAS VEGAS SANDS INC.
Scott Henry has joined the Las Vegas-based company as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Henry spent 17 years as a Wall Street investment banker and worked on a number of transactions involving the gaming, leisure and hospitality industries. He most recently served as a managing director in the Telecommunications, Media and Technology Group with ABN AMRO Inc.
GOLDEN GAMING
Todd Kunesh has been named director of operations for the Las Vegas-based company's Golden Tavern Group. Kunesh formerly served as director of beverage operations for the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino and as an operations manager for the Hard Rock Café, both in Las Vegas.
PANASONIC
Julianna Benedick has been appointed to the position of group manager of marketing for Panasonic Digital Communications & Security Company (PDCSC). With 12 years of marketing experience, she will help the company market its line of video surveillance and security products.
Patti Markiewicz has been named national sales manager for PDCSC. Already a seasoned member of the company's sales team, Markiewicz will help broaden the company's sales reach on a national level.
PELCO
Scott Schafer has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president of marketing for North America. In this role, Schafer will be responsible for the marketing and sales of the Clovis, Calif.-based company's surveillance technology products and solutions.
PENN NATIONAL GAMING
Albert T. Britton has been named general manager of the company's Charles Town Races & Slots facility in Charles Town, W. Va. He assumes the role from John V. Finamore, a senior vice president at Penn National who has served as GM of the track on an interim basis. In his new role, Britton will be responsible for all aspects of the track's entertainment, racing and slot operations. He most recently held management roles with Harrah's Showboat Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
PRICEWATERHOUSE COOPERS
Sharon Lewis has joined the PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Gaming Practice. She will be responsible for new business development in the gaming industry and will play an active role in existing engagements, including market and economic impact analysis, litigation support, analysis of legislation impact and litigation support.
TRANSACT TECHNOLOGIES
Gary Parkin has joined the Connecticut-based company as European gaming technical sales manager. He will assist in the development of TransAct's European gaming business, building relationships and providing overall sales support.
