All aboard for Atlantic City
February 1, 2009

New York
residents seeking to spend a day or several gambling at casinos in Atlantic City will have a
quicker and more affordable way to get ther.
The Atlantic City Express train service set to launch in
mid-February will connect New York’s
Penn Station with Harrah’s Resort, Caesars Atlantic City and the Borgata Hotel
Casino & Spa. One-way fare for the trip will be $50 for coach and $75 for
first class. The higher-cost ticket includes food and beverage
service.
Atlantic City casinos
hope the trains will bring in more customers, thus boosting their revenues,
which have been down in recent months due to the slumping
economy.
The train service will be
the first connecting New York with Atlantic City directly
since Amtrak discontinued its runs in a cost-cutting move several years ago.
