Who’s going where and doing what in the gaming industry
Atronic International announced several changes at the executive level of the corporation. Thierry Aiglon has been named chief operating officer for the Atronic International Group, including Atronic Systems. Aiglon will oversee all sales, marketing, service and business development activities and closely cooperate with the associated divisions of the company. Jon Lancaster has been named sales director for the Atronic International Group, overseeing all sales activities for both companies, Atronic International and Atronic Systems. At the same time, Anette Jauch has assumed the position of marketing director for the Atronic International Group. Sylvia Dietz has been named executive director of global marketing, overseeing the marketing activities for the company on a global level.
Further, Atronic Americas, LLC announced the appointment of Ken Bossingham as chief operating officer. He will oversee all activities for North America; including sales, business development, operations, gaming services, and game design. Other strategic personnel announcements for Atronic Americas include the immediate appointment of Markus Stenzer as chief financial officer. In addition, Todd Nash has accepted the position of director of business development and strategy.
BLACK OACK CASINO
Randy Dugger has been named to the post of director of hospitality for the Tuolumne, Calif.-based property. He will oversee all seven bars, restaurants, and the first floor family entertainment center, including the arcade and Black Oak Lanes, a 24-lane Brunswick Bowling Center. Dugger will also provide leadership in the development plan for the future hotel expansion. With over 30 years of food & beverage and hospitality experience, Dugger has spent the last 12-plus years as the general manager and director of guest services for the Spirit Mountain Casino in Oregon.
Pacifico S. Agnellini has been named to the Atlantic City, N.J.-based law firm as a partner in its tax, business and gaming law practice groups. He will concentrate his practice in the representation of businesses in all aspects of gaming law as well as real estate, transactional, tax and financing matters. Agnellini has served as corporate counsel in the casino industry for the last nine years, most recently holding the title of vice president of legal affairs and risk management at Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. Agnellini played a significant role in the due diligence and financial aspects of Trump Entertainment’s 2005 restructuring and Trump Marina’s 2003 $475 million refinancing.

Tony Aveni, a 30-year veteran in direct marketing, has joined the Denver, Colo.-based firm as its president and chief operating officer. Aveni has held senior executive positions with MSI/Havas Euro RSCG in Paris and New York, N.Y.; Mailmen, Inc. in New York, N.Y.; The Direct Marketing Group, Inc. in New York, N.Y. and Hub Mail Advertising in Boston, Mass. He will oversee all day-to-day operations which include marketing, accounting, staffing and new business development.
Rick Harshman was recently promoted to vice president of casino marketing from director of business development. He joined the firm following several years as a top marketing and IT executive with several gaming operations. He served as the regional IT director of Grand Casinos’ southern properties. He also held positions of director of slot operations, director of casino operations and director of marketing for properties in Las Vegas and Black Hawk, Colo. He has worked with a number of the firm’s top accounts including the Fantasy Springs Resort and Bear River Casino properties in California, Chickasaw Enterprises in Oklahoma and Aquasino in Florida.
Gary Van Hettinga has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer. Van Hettinga has over two decades of experience in the Las Vegas and Atlantic City gaming industries. In his new role, he is responsible for administering the property level accounting, strategic planning and analysis, casino cashiering and credit functions. Prior to joining Mohegan Sun, Van Hettinga served as president and general manager of Tropicana Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. He previously held the positions of senior vice president of slot marketing/operations and senior vice president of finance at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City.
Additionally, Mohegan Sun announced the appointments of Kara Fox-Larose as vice president of marketing and promotions and Kristen Chapman as director of special events.
John James has been named chief operating officer for Seminole Gaming, with overall responsibility for the operations of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos in Hollywood and Tampa, Fla., as well as Seminole Casinos in Coconut Creek, Hollywood, on the Immokalee Reservation near Naples, on the Brighton Reservation northwest of Lake Okeechobee and on the Big Cypress Reservation south of Lake Okeechobee. James most recently served as general manager of the Pechanga Resort & Casino, in Temecula, Calif. His earlier gaming and resort experience includes stints at Station Casinos, the Regent Las Vegas, Palms Casino Resort, Fiesta Casino & Hotel, Boomtown Las Vegas Resort, Four Queens Hotel & Casino, Gold River Casino Resort and Bally’s Las Vegas.
Philippe Caretti has been appointed senior vice president and general manager of resort operations at Wynn Las Vegas. In this role, Caretti will oversee all aspects of the resort administration operations.
Caretti brings 27 years of hotel management experience to Wynn Las Vegas, having worked around the world in gateway cities including Geneva, London, Chicago, Vancouver, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok. He joins Wynn Las Vegas from Hotel Mulia Senayan Jakarta, where he held the position of vice president and general manager responsible for operating their 996-room hotel and 600-room property in Bali. Prior to working in Indonesia, Caretti spent 13 years with the Shangri-La Hotel Group and distinguished himself with both the Swissotel Group and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
