TOP EXECS FROM BOYD, MGM TO KEYNOTE AT SOUTHERN GAMING SUMMIT
Keith Smith, president and CEO of Boyd Gaming, will deliver the keynote address on May 9, the first full day of conference sessions at the Summit. James Murren, chairman and chief executive officer, MGM Resorts International, will be the keynote speaker on May 10.

Our attendees will have great interest in hearing how each of our keynoters sees their gaming business evolving.”
Boyd and MGM have both expanded their presence significantly in the southern region in recent months. Boyd, which operates five properties in Louisiana and Mississippi, last fall closed on its acquisition of IP Biloxi Casino Resort & Spa. MGM, which operates Beau Rivage, the flagship property of the Gulf Coast market, entered into a development agreement last fall with Creative Casinos, operators of Mojito Pointe in Lake Charles, La., and signed a strategic marketing alliance with Ameristar, which operates a property in Vicksburg.
The two keynotes are the highlight of an expanded conference program. Themed, “Work Smart,” the Southern Gaming Summit will feature 18 breakout sessions, up 50 percent from prior years, adding operations-oriented titles and topics such as “The Efficient Casino: 50 Ways to Meet Your Numbers,” project development, slot and table game math, as well as hotel yield management, to an established agenda of executive-level conference topics. The Summit’s companion show, Bingo World Conference & Expo Bingo, will offer 10 breakout sessions, plus its popular customer service and Bingo U workshops. GAMING TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT MARKS 10TH ANNIVERSARY
Internet and mobile gaming, social media, and technology’s marketing impact are just a sampling of the topics that will be examined in-depth. A glimpse of the future will be provided by keynote presenter Ramesh Srinivasan, president and chief operating officer, Bally Technologies, who will speak to the topic of, “Gaming Technology: The Next 10 Years.”
