The half-day program will be led by Mark Wayman, who is popularly known as the “Godfather of Las Vegas” for his unique ability to connect gaming companies and high-level job seekers. Wayman, who is founder and chief executive officer of The Foundation, an executive search firm focused on gaming and high-tech industries, will present a comprehensive view of gaming career development, from the job search to what it takes to keep one’s career moving forward.
“The gaming industry is both an exciting and challenging environment for technology professionals, many of whom often come from other industries,” said Saverio R. Scheri III, founding partner of WhiteSand Gaming and president, Valley Forge Casino Resort. “No one is better positioned than Mark Wayman to educate our attendees on the relationship and network skills they’ll need to secure and build successful IT careers in gaming. We are thrilled to offer this workshop because we see it as a practical supplement to all of the technology learning that happens at Gaming Technology Summit.”
Wayman’s workshop, “Gaming Executive Career Guide, Building a Career,” will be presented in two parts on Wednesday, June 13, starting at 9 a.m. It will be part of a program that includes over 25 information-packed conference sessions and vendor workshops during its two-day run. There will be three keynotes, including an opening speech from Ramesh Srinivasan, president and chief operating officer, Bally Technologies, who will use the occasion of the Summit’s 10th anniversary to deliver an address entitled “Gaming Technology, the Next 10 Years.” In addition, Mike Wood returns with a new workshop, Resolving Project Pain Points, on June 11, which is open to all Summit conference attendees.
