Technology and its varying impact continues to be front and center in the minds of most casino executives, and nowhere was this more evident than at last month’s Gaming Technology Summit. The event—co-sponsored by WhiteSand Gaming, a technology consulting services firm, and BNP Media Gaming Group, the parent company of Casino Journal—took place at the Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas and drew a diverse crowd of operators, vendors and executives interested in learning about and discussing all things technology and how they are altering the face of casino gaming. Highlights from the event included an expanded session track featuring keynote speakers such as Ramesh Srinivasan, president and COO of Bally Technologies; a trade show floor stocked with the latest tech offerings from slot and casino equipment suppliers; presentations to the winners of the Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Product contest and the announcement of the contest’s platinum, gold, silver and attendees choice awards recipients (see story on page 14); and a plethora of parties and networking events.
