OCTAVIAN TO PROVIDE GAME CONTENT ON SPIELO VLTS
February 4, 2010
Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced Thursday that its
subsidiary, SPIELO Manufacturing ULC, and Octavian International Limited have
entered into a licensing agreement under which Octavian will develop games
using SPIELO’s game development kit for SPIELO’s gaming platform in Italy’s new
video lottery terminal market.
The games will be initially offered to Italian players by
one of Italy’s
largest gaming machine concessionaires, Lottomatica Videolot Rete S.p.A. (LVR),
a wholly owned subsidiary of Lottomatica Group.
Octavian, an international provider and integrator of
networked gaming solutions, currently provides top-performing games to Italy’s
Comma 6A, or Amusement With
Prize (AWP), market.
As part of the agreement, Octavian also will target several
of its most popular AWP titles and themes to the new Comma 6B, or VLT, market
on SPIELO’s powerful gaming platform using SPIELO’s game development kit (GDK).
“SPIELO’s high-tech team provides world-class platforms, and
their VLT and GDK are quite advanced. When joined with Octavian’s winning
content and Comma 6A successes, the end product will definitely have a
significant impact on the new Comma 6B marketplace in Italy,” said
Octavian President Peter Moffitt. “We look forward to seeing a large number of
our games on the Lottomatica VLT network very soon.”
SPIELO President and CEO Victor Duarte said the partnership
with Octavian “supports SPIELO’s strategy of providing the largest and most
compelling portfolio of game content in Italy.”
Lottomatica Videolot Rete CEO Guglielmo Angelozzi said the
agreement “allows a more robust and
complete offering to players.”
Octavian and SPIELO expect to release the first games in the
second half of 2010.
This is the first of several content agreements SPIELO
expects to announce relating to the Italian VLT market.
