Bally introduces Gold Bug series
July 2, 2010
Featured on Bally Technologies’ sleek, modern, and stunning new ALPHA Pro Series Upright, and Slant cabinet platforms, Gold Bug – Director’s Cut is one in a series of three games in the Gold Bug series. The other two titles are Gold Bug – The Free Rangers, and Gold Bug – The Wild Bunch.
Gold Bug – Director’s Cut is a five-reel, 40-line, non-progressive video slot with a 250-credit max bet , where players have an opportunity to win up to 50 free games and other exciting bonuses. This can be a multi-denom title, with the game being set at either 5 or 10 credits. Available denominations range from one cent up to 25 cents with a recommended setup of 40 lines and 250 credits at a penny denom.
With his classic straw hat, bow tie and big smile, Gold Bug stars in a Roaring Twenties-inspired silver-screen adventure, complete with tinkling piano music, flappers and movie moguls. Crisp, high-definition graphics, digital audio and lively sound effects enhance this humorous and fun player experience.
This dual-screen video game features stacked wilds in the base game, as well as in the free games bonus for higher pays and excitement. Gold Bug also has animation in both screens for visual appeal and to let the player know when they are qualified for the Gold Bug Bonus Spin. This bonus event is triggered when three Gold Bug symbols appear randomly in the base game. The player must bet 40 lines in order to qualify for this feature.
The player must also bet an additional 10 credits X bet per line to purchase these symbols and be eligible for the bonus. When activated, this feature awards the player one bonus spin to win either bonus credits and/or free games. If a “Free Game” symbol appears on the center payline, it will hold its position while the remaining reels re-spin. If three Free Game symbols appear instead, the player receives five free games with all wins multiplied 3X. If another Free Games symbol appears during this Free Games bonus, the player will receive one additional free game. This feature ends when no free games remain, or when a total of 50 free games have been played.
