Horseshoe WSOP Event Drawing Big Numbers

Nearly
1,200 players entered the World Series of Poker circuit event that began Oct.
24 at the new $500 million Horseshoe casino in Indiana,
just 20 minutes from downtown Chicago
The first No-Limit Hold ’em $345 buy-in
circuit event drew 1,187 entries, which was close to the record 1,345 entries
for a WSOP event at Horseshoe Tunica casino in 2006.
“We couldn’t have asked for a
better turnout for Chicagoland’s first-ever World Series of Poker circuit
event,” said Rick Mazer, Indiana
regional president and general manager, Harrah’s Entertainment. “We are
absolutely thrilled.”
World Series of Poker at Horseshoe has a total
of thirteen tournament events, with buy-ins ranging from $300 up to $5,000 for
the no-limit Hold’ em finale. The winner of the $5,000 championship will win
cash plus a seat to the World Series of Poker Main Event, valued at $10,000, at
the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las
Vegas in summer 2009.
Events continue through Nov. 2, when the final table event
will be held.
