PokerTek enters Louisiana with latest installation
December 22, 2008

PokerTek announced
the installation of four PokerPro tables at Boomtown Casino & Hotel in Bossier City, La.
The installation is notable because it is the first time that poker has been
offered at Boomtown Bossier City, which is the closest gaming facility to the
Dallas/Fort Worth market. It is also PokerTek’s first installation in the state
of Louisiana,
which currently has 131 poker tables at 12
casinos.
This
is the first PokerPro implementation for Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc., Boomtown
Bossier’s parent company, which signed an agreement with PokerTek in the summer
of 2008 selecting them as its choice for automated poker tables for Pinnacle
casinos. Boomtown Bossier City,
which will hold daily tournaments and promotions in the new poker room,
features more than 1,200 slots, 30 table games and a 188-room hotel. The
property was voted “Best in Penny Slots” for the region the last two years by Casino Player
Magazine.
“We’re excited to bring PokerPro to Boomtown Bossier and into the state of Louisiana,” said Robert
Perry, PokerTek’s Vice President of Sales. “It is always an accomplishment when
we expand into another state and broaden the exposure of our automated poker
tables.”
“Working with Pinnacle Entertainment is a great fit for PokerTek,” added Chris
Halligan, PokerTek’s CEO. “We’ve worked hard to develop strong corporate
relationships across the industry and are delighted to partner with Pinnacle. We
look forward to succeeding with them at Boomtown Bossier City and beyond.”
