DEQ places EZ Baccarat at MGM Grand in Las Vegas
March 11, 2009

DEQ Systems announced that the MGM Grand Hotel
and Casino in Las Vegas
is the latest casino to operate EZ Baccarat, the company’s award-winning
non-commission version of baccarat equipped with EZ Trak, an LCD-based hand
tracking system.
Two EZ Baccarats and two EZ Traks have
made their debut at MGM Grand after recent success at the Wynn and Harrah’s
Paris casino in Las Vegas. This product’s success story started in early 2008 in Southern
California when the Barona’s Table Game Manager Mike Patterson
decided to champion the product. EZ Baccarat’s adoption has been quite rapid
and widespread throughout the Golden
State with 46
installations in nine casinos in less than a year. In the past three months
alone, casinos such as the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa, Harrah’s Rincon,
Sycuan Resort & Casino, Red Hawk Casino and Viejas Casino have all started
operating EZ Baccarat and EZ Trak. As well, EZ Baccarat has made its Canadian
debut with three recent installations at Vancouver’s
Edgewater Casino.
DEQ reports that it has penetrated over
40% of the baccarat market in California in less than a year and has now
successfully penetrated Las Vegas market with product in the Wynn, Harrah’s and
now MGM properties. Furthermore, market penetration has begun in Michigan and commercialization has commenced in Iowa and Indiana.
Licensing focus has now shifted to other baccarat rich jurisdictions such as Connecticut, Florida and
New Jersey
where several casinos have already expressed interest for the products.
“We have a fantastic product
combination on our hands, no doubt about it. In these tough economic times
every casino is looking for accretive revenue that does not require capital
investment or man power. The EZ Baccarat method provides for an increase in
hands per hour and decrease in manpower needed to supervise the non commission
method as opposed to the traditional alternative are some of the reasons why EZ
Baccarat and EZ Trak are in such demand,” stated Earle
G. Hall, President and CEO of DEQ. “Las
Vegas and California
are no longer the only jurisdictions where those products are available. After
a successful entry into Michigan and Canada, EZ Baccarat is now GLI approved in Iowa and in Indiana
where casinos such as Ameristar and Harrah’s are among the first to have placed
orders.”
