PokerTek wins one, loses one
April 1, 2009

You
win some; you lose some.
Automated
poker leader PokerTek announced the opening of an all-PokerPro room at Hoosier
Park Racing and Casino in Anderson, Ind. just north of Indianapolis. The new
poker room at Hoosier
Park opened with four
PokerPro tables on March 20.
Meanwhile,
the Press of
Atlantic City reported that the Trump Plaza has removed Atlantic City’s only automated poker tables after just a few months of play. Trump Plaza
introduced 14 PokerTek machines last June including a dozen tables with seating
for as many as 10 players and two head-ups models, but the machines never generated
the anticipated revenue. The goal was $1.8 million in annual revenue, but the
best month was $45,000, according to the AC Press story citing Trump Plaza’s
General Manager Jim Rigot.
