Pennsylvania posts record slot results
April 11, 2011
10 casinos generated a combined $214.9 million in March slot revenue, a 7
percent increase over last year and the highest monthly slot total ever
recording in the state.
Prior to March 2011, the previous high-water mark for Pennsylvania slot revenue was $211.1 million set in July 2010, according to the state’s Gaming Control Board.
The primary reason for the increase in Pennsylvania slot revenue was the recent opening of the state’s tenth casino in Philadelphia. SugarHouse casino produced $15 million in March slot revenue.
The Parx Casino in Bensalem recorded $34.2 million in March slot revenue, the most of any Pennsylvania casino. The month’s best performing casino however was the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, which had $24.3 million in slot revenue for the month, a 12.5 percent increase over 2010 figures.
