April 29, 2011
Mandalay
Bay Las Vegas and famed entertainment provider Cirque du Soleil unveiled plans
to create a new themed attraction based on Michael Jackson and his Neverland
Ranch.
According
to Cirque du Soleil officials, the attraction will include a Jackson-themed
lounge, an interactive memorabilia museum and a theater that would replicate Jackson’s
renowned Neverland residence and amusement park.
The
attraction/entertainment venue is scheduled to open sometime in 2013. Mandalay
Bay will construct it in the space that currently houses The Lion King stage show. Other venues in the casino will also be
moved to clear space for the massive new attraction, according to The Monterey County Herald.
Cirque
du Soleil is launching Michael Jackson, The Immortal World Tour, a $57
million Jackson inspired entertainment that will show in 30 cities, this fall.
