Top Execs from Boyd, MGM to keynote at Southern Gaming Summit

The19th annual Southern Gaming Summit to be held at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum May 8-10 featuring keynote speeches from the top executives at Boyd Gaming and MGM Resorts International.
Keith Smith, president and CEO of Boyd Gaming, will deliver the keynote address on May 9, the first full day of conference sessions at the Summit. James Murren, Chairman and CEO, MGM Resorts International, will be the keynote speaker on May 10.
"We are honored to have speakers the caliber of Keith Smith and James Murren give keynote presentations at Southern Gaming Summit," said Larry Gregory, Executive Director, Mississippi Casino Operators Association, which co-produces the event with BNP Media Gaming Group. "Boyd and MGM are leadership companies in the southern region and their respective impacts are national and global in scope. Our attendees will have great interest in hearing how each of our keynoters sees their gaming business evolving."
Boyd and MGM have both expanded their presence significantly in the southern region in recent months. Boyd, which operates five properties in Louisiana and Mississippi, closed last fall on its acquisition of IP Biloxi Casino Resort & Spa. MGM, which operates Beau Rivage, the flagship property of the Gulf Coast market, entered into a development agreement last fall with Creative Casinos, operators of Mojito Pointe in Lake Charles, La., and signed a strategic marketing alliance this week with Ameristar, which operates a property in Vicksburg.
