IGT supplies Scioto Downs with VLTs

International Game Technology (IGT) has signed off on a deal that will lead to the placement of 756 of its video lottery terminals (VLT) units at Scioto Downs, a Columbus, Ohio-based racino.
With this deal, IGT becomes the leading provider of VLTs to the Ohio racing industry, according to company literature. The recent refurbishment of the racino added over 2,000 VLTs to its casino floor, with a third of the sale contracted to IGT.
The racino plans to further build out its floor, expecting to add an additional 54 machines from IGT by the end of the year.
“We are proud to be a part of the expansion at Scioto Downs,” said Eric Tom, IGT executive vice president of global sales. “Our extensive selection of game themes equips them with a library full of best of breed games, which will engage the players on their floor, and allow for an investment for years to come.”
So far, Scioto Downs is the only racetrack in the state to be granted a license for the operation of VLTs. The Ohio Lottery Commission expects that the revenue from the operation of the VLTs at state tracks will generate up to $3 million per month for the state.
