September 27, 2012
Raving's
Cutting Edge Table Games Conference, to be held December 2-4 at The Mirage in
Las Vegas, will hold a unique new games competition that offers the winner game
trial at up to seven casinos nationally.
The
Best New Table Games of 2012 competition, presented by the event's sponsor
publication, Casino
Journal, is designed to recognize new
table games and their inventors, companies and promoters, whose new games, as
judged by casino table game operators and marketing executives, have the best
combination of player appeal, ease of understanding, and potential commercial
success.
The
winner of the Best New Table Game Competition will, assuming the necessary
licensing and regulatory requirements are satisfied, receive floor space at
Agua Caliente /Spa Resort Casinos, Apache Casino Hotel, Black Oak Casino, Hard
Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Lucky Star Casino Clinton, Lucky Star Casino
Concho and Muckleshoot Indian Casino and Bingo.
"We
are very proud to have an unprecedented amount of property-level support for
this year's Best New Table Games competition," said Dennis Conrad,
president and chief strategist, Raving Consulting Company, which co-produces
the event with BNP Media Gaming Group, the parent company of Casino Journal. "The mix
of participating operators will give our contest winner the chance for game
trial at leadership properties across multiple markets, which is something
every new table game developer wants and needs."
Exhibitors
at the conference will have dedicated "play time" during theopening
night reception and all networking breaks between sessions. Attendees, namely
table game operators and other casino executives from across the casino
industry, will be encouraged to participate and cast a vote. The winners of the
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be announced Tuesday afternoon, December 4.
The
new games theme will also be developed in the conference itself, with a session
entitled "From Inception to Trial to Commercial Success: The Story of a
'Home Run' New Table Game." Presented by Derek Webb, the inventor of
3-Card Poker, the session will afford attendees a unique view of how one game
developer overcame the odds that every new table game idea faces, becoming a global
success story in the process. Webb will be one of more than 20 presenters
addressing a full range of table games topics over 2.5 days.
