Walsh Bishop has been recognized by the Global Gaming Expo with three casino design awards, including “2008 Architectural Firm of the Year.”  The firm also won “Best Architectural Design for a Casino Resort Under $200 million” for Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel in Traverse City, Mich. and “Best Lighting Design for a Casino Resort” for Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, Minn.  

The recognition comes at a time of renewal for the firm that includes expanded business offerings, new leadership and new approaches in helping clients achieve transformation.

"We feel that the awards confirm that we’re going down the right path because we executed these projects during our renewal,” said Keith O’Brien, vice president of Walsh Bishop’s Entertainment and Hospitality Group. “Pairing innovative design solutions with commitment to each client’s business model has proven very successful for us. We were able to complete two landmark projects this year that uniquely transformed major entertainment destinations.”  

“What we really enjoyed about the experience with Walsh Bishop was the firm’s commitment and approach to our business model for Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel,” said Ron Olson, chief executive officer of Grand Traverse Resort and Casinos. “We felt this attention made a big impact not only on our operations, but it also rendered us a truly unique design.”
