THE FINE POINT GROUP
The
Fine Point Group announced the hiring of Associate Matt Walton. His
responsibilities will include working with clients to analyze, design and
implement new database marketing strategies; relationship marketing analytics;
and helping clients with reinvestment, yield management strategy and understanding
and implementing closed-loop marketing with tests and controls.
“Matt

Managing Director Randall A. Fine. “His experience is diverse and his knowledge
is thorough. We’re incredibly pleased to have him join The Fine Point Group.”
Matt
Walton offers more than 20 years of accomplishment-laden experience in the
casino, travel and air transportation industries. Most recently, he served as
the Director of Marketing at Boyd Gaming’s Sam’s Town Tunica in Tunica, Miss.
Here Walton oversaw a staff of 30 and directed all property marketing campaigns.
He was also responsible for creation of the marketing budget and management of
the analysis and reporting for marketing strategies, media, events, promotions,
entertainment and direct marketing.
Before
Boyd, Walton spent three years in a progression of increasingly responsible
positions at Harrah’s Entertainment. Walton joined Harrah’s Entertainment as a
Marketing Analysis Manager where he provided marketing analysis support and
consulting for two properties in Shreveport,
La. and three
properties
in Tunica, Miss. A year later he was promoted to Director of Sales and
Marketing for Harrah’s New Orleans,
where he managed both the convention sales team as well as the events and promotions
team. Walton also worked closely with the Direct Marketing Team to develop a comprehensive
direct marketing strategy to grow both local and national VIP business. After a
year in
this
position, he was transferred to Tunica, Miss.
to assume the role of Director of Marketing for the Sheraton Hotel and Casino.
In this position he developed a new value proposition for the $20MM EBITDA
property and then implemented this proposition through creative marketing
strategies.
Prior
to Harrah’s Entertainment, Walton worked for American Express Travel Related
Services as a business travel consultant. He then joined American Airlines as
one of their first UK
based employees. After two years working in marketing automation sales, he was
transferred to Dallas, Texas where he
quickly
moved up the corporate ladder holding various positions from Financial Analyst
to Regional Sales Director. He has worked in Financial Planning and
Analysis,
Mergers and Acquisitions, Marketing Planning, Joint Ventures, Revenue
Management, New Business Development External Consulting, and
finally
Passenger Sales. Prior to leaving American Airlines his final position was
Regional Sales Director for the Mid-Atlantic Region.
