Casino & Entertainment Properties (ACEP) named Thomas
Stretlien vice president of human resources for the Stratosphere Casino Hotel
and Tower.
Stretlien is responsible for all facets of human resources
at the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower including employment, internal communications,
training and staff development and employee services.
Stretlien reports directly to Arthur Keith, president and
general manager for the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower. “The role of the
human resources department has become more dynamic and as a result, a critical
component to the success of any gaming resort property. Thomas Stretlien has
extensive leadership experience in the many aspects of human resources. We will
leverage that experience as we continue to attract and retain a strong
workforce,” said Keith.
Prior to the Stratosphere, Stretlien was executive
director- human resources for the Venetian Hotel Casino/Palazzo Las Vegas
Resort Hotel Casino, both in Las Vegas, Nev. Stretlien was responsible for
day-to-day human resources operations for two of the largest gaming resort
properties in Las Vegas.
Stretlien has spent most of his career in the automotive
industry in Michigan.
He served with Behr America,
a tier one automotive supplier, as director of human resources with responsibility
for human resource operations in the United
States and Mexico.
Stretlien spent 22 years with Volkswagen of America. During
his tenure, he served as executive director of human resources with
responsibility for human resource operations in the United
States and Canada.
Stretlien earned a master’s of business administration from
the Michigan State University School of Business and a bachelor’s of business
administration from Wayne State University
in Detroit, Mich.
