Spirit Mountain Gaming CEO Rodney Ferguson has named Allan
E. Krantz as the new director of marketing at Spirit Mountain Casino in western
Prior to joining Spirit Mountain, Krantz held several senior marketing positions at some of the country’s most successful theme parks, educational attractions, pari-mutuels and gaming companies. Originally from Queens, N.Y., he began his career as the general sales manager for Six Flags Theme Park in Atlanta and was eventually promoted to director of corporate marketing. Krantz left Six Flags for a new kind of park when he accepted the director of marketing position at Santa Anita Park horse track in Arcadia, Calif. A highlight of his career was working closely with legendary jockey Bill Shoemaker in the promotion of the final race of his professional career.
Another highlight of his career was having the opportunity to work with Alan Shepard and the original Mercury Seven Astronauts in the establishment of U.S. Space Camp and Astronauts Hall of Fame while working as the director of marketing at the U.S. Space Camp.
His next endeavor was as the senior director of marketing at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles, La., followed by a position as the vice president of marketing for Alpha Smart Parks/Wet ‘n Wild before moving back into the casino industry as the director of marketing at Sycuan Resort and Casino in San Diego, where he remained for the five years.
“I’m excited to have Allan on board as part of our team to help elevate us to the next level as the Northwest’s Premier Entertainment Destination,” Ferguson said. “Allan will play a key role in our current expansion plans which include the May 2009 opening of a new Nightclub and Sports Bar.”
