INTERNATIONAL MASTERS OF GAMING LAW
Ian Ramsey of the law firm of Stites & Harrison
has been named by the International
Masters
of Gaming Law as a general member representing Kentucky. A significant factor in Ramsey being
named to IMGL involves his leading role in the case of Commonwealth
Of Kentucky, Ex. Rel J. Michael Brown, Secretary, Justice and Public Safety
Cabinet v. Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association, et al., which is pending
before the Kentucky Supreme Court. It is an important case in the evolution of
online gaming law in the United States and is expected to establish precedent
on whether any state court can assert jurisdiction over absentee Web site
domain names. Ramsey, based in Stites & Harrison’s Louisville office, is
chair of the firm’s Gaming Law Group and is a frequent author and presenter on
the subject of gaming law.
