Eric Tom has been named chief operating officer for International Game Technology. He is responsible for marketing, sales, services, product management and operations, and reports to CEO Patti Hart. He also will focus on improving the operational efficiency and increasing the customer focus of the company. Tom joined IGT in July 2009 and most recently served as executive vice president of Sales and Marketing for North America. … The company also announced that Tony Ciorciari, executive vice president Global Manufacturing & Operations, and Paulus Karksens, president IGT International, will retire in the first calendar quarter of 2011. They will assume executive advisory roles until then and will assist the company in ensuring a successful transition.
