Hosting 400 customers with “OPTIMIZING PROFITS IN A DOWN ECONOMY” theme this week in Las Vegas

Bally Technologies will present its two-day Systems User Conference 6 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas March 10-12.  

“We are very encouraged that more than 400 customers have registered to attend Systems User Conference 6, despite the economic challenges facing the gaming industry,” said Ramesh Srinivasan, Bally Technologies’ Executive Vice President, Systems. “The purpose of User Conference 6 is to show our valued customers how to save costs, streamline operations, extend the life and value of past investments, analyze players and machines better, and further enhance operational profitability, especially during these tough economic times.”    

“Now more than ever, Bally understands that innovations in the world of enterprise software must be built on customer needs and on a solid foundation of dependable, scalable, and efficient technology backed up by strong professional, technical and customer-support services,” Srinivasan added.  

New this year, in addition to regular breakout sessions, will be a series of plenary sessions on both days of the conference covering such topics as: “Making a Personal Connection with Your Customers Through iVIEW,” “Gaming Technology That Enhances ROI Today…And Tomorrow,” “Driving Revenue Using Bally’s Media-Management Technology,” and “Harnessing The Power of High-Speed Networking with Bally and Cisco.” 

Several new systems technology innovations will be spotlighted during Systems User Conference 6. One of these is Bally’s much-awaited Systems Version 11.0, which provides new, easy-to-use graphical user interfaces, vertical and horizontal scalability, state-of-the-art distributed architectures, and internationalization support across multiple languages and currencies. Bally’s SDS Version 11.0 supports both the Microsoft Windows and UNIX software platform, as well as Microsoft SQL Server and DB2 databases off a single Java code, while ACSC Version 11.0 features a new graphical user interface and universal card.

Other key technologies that will be highlighted include the new Bally Power Card, a stored-value card that casino customers can purchase and use in lieu of cash, similar to a retail gift card; Bally Business Intelligence Solutions, an advanced application that allows casino operators to analyze and visualize the extensive data gathered throughout their business enterprise; and Bally Biometric Recognition, the first product to incorporate distributed surveillance and biometric recognition to handle major business needs such as player identification, self exclusion, and marketing to non-players’ club patrons at the point of play. Bally will also demonstrate its Bally CoolSign Multi-Media Solution, designed to allow operators to control thousands of message streams simultaneously in multiple locations -- all from a centralized console. Bally’s CoolSign networked displays integrate with the Company’s iVIEW SmartScreen displays as well as Bally’s iVIEW Display Manager, an intelligent controller that allows casinos to present system content or marketing messages on the main game screen, the top game display, and overhead displays with picture-in-picture capability.

Three guest speakers are slated to appear during Systems User Conference 6:

Major league baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. Known as baseball’s all-time “Iron Man,” Ripken is one of only eight players in history to achieve 400 home runs and 3,000 hits. In 1995, Ripken broke Lou Gehrig’s record for 2,130 consecutive games played. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame with the third-highest percentage of votes ever cast for a Hall of Fame nominee.
