Took chips ranging in value from $100 to $25,000 each
An armed bandit wearing a motorcycle helmet made off with at least $1.5 million in casino chips early Tuesday morning from the Bellagio resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
The brazen bandit fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Authorities will be on the lookout for anyone seeking to cash high-denomination chips at the upscale resort.
The thief took chips ranging in value from $100 to $25,000, according to police.
It won’t be easy to cash them in. Chips are unique to casino properties and are generally not interchangeable, although state regulations allow casino companies to redeem chips from sister properties with some restrictions.
