Revenues of â¬5.5 billion a year represent about 10 percent of the continental gaming industry
A new study says the European bingo sector generates revenues of around â¬5.5 billion a year, representing about 10 percent of the entire continental gaming industry.
According to research from EQBingo, based in Spain, and supported by a number of European trade and commercial associations, bingo employs about 80,000 people, representing about 0.04 percent of European Union workers between 16 and 64, accounting for about 0.06 percent of the gross domestic product of the Common Market.
There are about 1,500 bingo venues across the EU, according to the study.
In Spain the sector employs more than 11,000 people.
