Konami Gaming, one of the largest designers and manufacturers of
slot machines and casino management systems, has completed a licensing
agreement with Hasbro and Hasbro International, securing the rights to design
and manufacture slot machines using the popular Dungeons & Dragons brand.
“We
are proud to partner with Hasbro, one of the world’s leading toy and game
manufacturers, to bring the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) brand to the
gaming industry,” said Ross O’Hanley, vice
president of domestic game sales at Konami Gaming. “D&D is
an iconic brand known for capturing the imagination of its fans through its
seemingly limitless cast of characters, engaging stories and vast worlds. We
plan to utilize those attributes to create a diverse product line which appeals
to a wide variety of slot players.”
“Konami is very particular about the brands we choose to license,”
added Steve Sutherland, CEO at Konami Gaming. “In Hasbro, we found a
collaborative partner with a shared vision of product development. Therefore, we are excited about working with
Hasbro to create gaming products that leverage the robust nature of Dungeon
& Dragons and reflect the Konami brand.”
Executives
at Hasbro also expressed enthusiasm over the deal and the icon game’s potential
as a slot. “Dungeons & Dragons is known for
delivering entertaining experiences across a variety of platforms, and we are
pleased to be partnering with Konami to bring D&D fans yet another
expression of the brand through casino gaming,” said Mark Blecher, senior vice
president of digital media & gaming at Hasbro.
