Cincinnati casino breaks ground, GM named
Construction has officially begun on Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, a $400 million urban entertainment resort being developed by Rock Ohio Caesars, a joint-venture between Rock Gaming LLC and Caesars Entertainment Corp.
When completed in late 2012, the property – located on the Broadway Commons site in the northeast portion of the city – will house a 100,000 square foot casino with 2,300 slot machines and 72 table games, three street-side restaurants, a food court and a second floor with 33,000-square-feet of multipurpose space for meetings, special events and entertainment offerings.
Horseshoe Cincinnati will employ 1,700 people and draw six million customers annually.
“Our Horseshoe casinos are the overwhelming preferred choice in gaming in each of the five markets where they operate, and we fully anticipate Horseshoe Cincinnati will enjoy similar success,” said Gary Loveman, Caesars’ chairman, CEO and president.
Loveman also announced that Kevin Kline would serve as general manager for the casino. Kline is a Caesars’ executive who most recently served as assistant general manager of Horseshoe Hammond in Hammond, Ind.
