Unity Technologies, a San Francisco, Calif.-based provider of a multiâplatform engine and
development tools, has signed multiâyear strategic partnerships with Bally Technologies and SHFL entertainment.
Unity Technologies is the creator of Unity, a flexible and highâperformance development
platform used to make creative and intelligent interactive 3D and 2D
experiences. By combining the power of the Unity engine with the breadth and
depth of Bally Technologies' slot offerings, Bally Technologies will be able to
build the most innovative electronic gaming offerings on the market.
Unity, used by slot manufacturers and online gambling companies
around the world to create some of the most exciting and compelling interactive
gambling content, is one of the most widely adopted middleware solutions for
development in the gambling industry. The Unity developer community is more
than 1.5 million developers strong and includes thousands of game studios
across the world, both large and small. Unity is an excellent solution for
gambling companies (landâbased,
online and mobile) looking to work with development houses already familiar
with the powerful, deep, and efficient development tools.
Unity is also known for its efficient design, enabling wild
creativity while keeping development cycles and costs down. Inâeditor play testing allows
for lightning fast iteration and the excellent art pipeline enables art assets to
be saved from any popular art tool (Photoshop, Maya, Modo, and more) in order
to effect change to every instance of that asset across the project
automatically.
“Bally Technologies is committed to innovation and delivering the
world's most popular and cuttingâedge games,” said Derik Mooberry, senior vice president of games,
Bally Technologies. “We look forward to working closely with Unity Technologies
and using the Unity solutions to help continue our innovation and development
of highly entertaining game content for casino operators and players.”
With the Unity engine, SHFL entertainment will expand its popular
cuttingâedge
gaming entertainment content through Electronic Gaming Machines, which include
traditional video slot machines, and iGaming, which features online versions of
SHFL's table games, social gaming, and mobile applications.
“Technology is at the heart of all we do and SHFL entertainment is
excited to begin our work and collaboration with Unity Technologies,” said Lou
Castle, chief strategy officer for SHFL entertainment. “Our product innovation,
superior quality, and service make gaming more fun for players and more
profitable for operators. We believe our work with the Unity engine will help us
deliver this value even broader.”
