TransAct Technologies’ new Epic 880 is a compact and highly reliable thermal roll receipt printer designed specifically for the gaming industry and primarily with the non-U.S. global market in mind.
The Epic 880 offers a robust printing solution for video lottery terminals, sports betting machines, fixed odds betting terminals, amusement with prize machines and skill with prize games.
The design builds on the knowledge gained from TransAct’s successful Epic 430 and is packed with features and functionality: such as easy-open “clam shell paper” loading, variable-length receipt printing up to 10 inches, ticket-retract capability and the ability to accommodate a 4- or 6-inch paper roll. The printer is self-contained, with an electronics base built into it, and an adjustable paper spindle for maximum flexibility in paper roll positioning.
The Epic 880 was unveiled earlier this year at the International Gaming Expo in London where it was displayed alongside the Epic 430, the Epic 950 casino printer and TransAct’s new ServerPort technology, which provides casino operators the ability to upgrade and connect their existing Epic 950s to server-based gaming solutions.
Hamden, Conn.-based TransAct is a leader in developing and manufacturing market-specific printers for transaction-based industries, including casinos, gaming, lottery, banking, kiosk and point-of-sale, and has more than 2 million devices installed around the world under the Epic and Ithaca brands.
