Award presented by the Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology

The Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship presented IGT the Technology Company of the Year award during its 2009 NCET Awards on Wednesday at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.

IGT tied with SpecTIR, LLC for the award, and both companies were recognized at the event Wednesday.

“IGT prides itself on being an industry leader, fueling the gaming world with truly innovative technologies,” Jim Vasquez, IGT vice president of game engineering, said. “We’re honored to be recognized for what we contribute to technology, and thank NCET for the consideration.”

The NCET Awards is an annual event celebrating individuals and companies who have greatly enhanced the growth and prestige of Greater Reno-Tahoe’s technology community. The Technology Company of the Year award is presented to the technology company headquartered in the Greater Reno-Tahoe area that has been in operation more than five years, and that achieves significant sales/revenue growth, employee growth, and a positive effect on the area technology industry. Special consideration is given to companies that demonstrate significant patent, R&D and IP activity.

NCET, Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, helps the people of Nevada start and grow businesses and connects them to the resources they need to succeed.
