Top-level entertainment on par with current Atlantic City offerings will be added to the mix at Sands Bethlehem, which unveiled plans for its 3,000-seat events center last month.
The Sands Events Center, which is scheduled to open next May, is part of a resort amenity expansion at the property that was kicked off this May with the opening of a new 300-room hotel. The 50,000-square-foot building will also include banquet and convention space that can accommodate groups of up to 1,000 people. A 200,000-square-foot luxury outlet mall will round out the expansion.
In partnership with Live Nation and the Vision Entertainment group of Allentown, Pa., Sands Bethlehem will target big-name acts that already make Atlantic City part of their concert tours, Robert DeSalvio, president, Sands Bethlehem, told the Philadelphia Daily News.
“I believe the value of bringing in Live Nation is that it is so powerful in its ability to route significant acts through here,” DeSalvio said. “They can add the Sands as a stop on a tour. That bodes very well for the kind of entertainment we can get.”
