New general manager of the NASCAR Sports Grille inside Indiana Live! Casino in Shelbyville, Ind.

David Russell has been named general manager of the new NASCAR Sports Grille inside Indiana Live! Casino in Shelbyville, Ind.  

Originally from Merrick, N.Y., Russell is familiar with the NASCAR Sports Grille operation, having served as assistant general manager at the NASCAR Sports Grille at Universal Studios in Orlando, the first such restaurant opened and managed by The Cordish Company.  

Previously he was assistant general manager at Fridays Front Row in Orlando, senior operations manager at ESPN Zone at Times Square in New York City and senior restaurant manager at the Rainforest Café inside Disneyland in Orlando. Overall, Russell has more than 25 years of experience working in the hospitality industry.  

NASCAR Sports Grille will be a casual dining destination geared toward sports enthusiasts of all sorts to enjoy lunch, dinner and more. Capable of seating 265 guests, the restaurant will be filled with state-of-the-art plasma TVs equipped with cutting-edge audio to provide the best sights and sounds of televised sports around. NASCAR Sports Grille will open when the new 233,000-square-foot, permanent Indiana Live! Casino opens in mid-March.
