River Spirit Casino – the new Creek Nation Casino – which will open March 31, announced the recent addition of new staff members .

Robert Dimmickhas been named Advertising Manager.  Dimmick has more than 20 years of senior-level marketing, advertising and sales management experience.  He specializes in advertising, brand positioning and messaging and will lead all of River Spirit Casino’s advertising efforts. Dimmick has previous experience with Winnercomm, National Car Rental, Sonic Restaurants, and Thrifty Rent a Car System.

Starr Slagle was named restaurant manager.  Slagle brings more than 25 years of food and beverage experience to River Spirit Casino, including serving as Food Service Manager at St. John Hospital, Restaurant Manager of Cherokee Nation Casino, and Food and Beverage Manager of the Golf Club of Oklahoma.


Paul Hewitt has been named Electronic Games Performance Manager.  Hewitt brings nearly 20 years experience in casino game operations and management level experience to River Spirit Casino.  Hewitt’s previous experience includes Slot Performance Manager at Circus Circus Casino in Reno, Nevada, and Slot Director/Manager of Crystal Bay Casino in North Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

The new $195 million River Spirit Casino, located just south of the existing casino at 81st and Riverside, will include one of Oklahoma’s largest gaming floors.  The 300,000 square-foot casino will feature state-of-the-art amenities including 2,800 high-tech machines, 24 table games, 15 poker games, four dining venues and the uniquely –designed Mystic River Lounge.

Cross said River Spirit Casino will continue to provide guests first class customer service along with exciting promotions, special reward offers and huge cash payouts.  Another feature, not found in other gaming facilities, will be a prestigious High Stakes Lounge, which will cater to the casino’s loyal V.I.P customers.

River Spirit Casino will offer guests a wide variety of dining options. Ranging from Rain Bay Café, a 24-hour quick snack shop, to the upscale Elements Steakhouse and Grille – there’s literally something for everyone.

Elements Steakhouse and Grille will offer new American cuisine.  Adding to the dining experience will be a wide selection of wines, a warm, inviting fireplace and live piano music. 

The new casino will also feature the largest casino buffet in Oklahoma.  With seating for 400 guests, The Visions Buffet will offer a wide array of food options with an international flavor and will also feature a Thursday night seafood buffet.


The Scoreboard Sports Bar will allow guests to enjoy drinks, snacks and of course plenty of plasma and LCD TV’s to watch their favorite team. 

One of the more exciting features of River Spirit Casino will be the Mystic River Lounge, which is located by the casino’s main stage. 

“Mystic River Lounge is uniquely designed and will feature a large stage and the newest technology in lighting and sound,” said Cross.  “We will be bringing in national and local acts.  It will be the perfect place for guests to enjoy a drink and listen to free live entertainment.”
