SANTA ANA STAR CASINOTamaya Enterprises, Inc., manager of Santa Ana Star Casino and one of New Mexico’s leading Native American gaming casinos, announces the appointment of Scott Eldredge to general manager of Santa Ana Star Casino. His appointment comes after a national search lasting more than six months and with dozens of qualified candidates applying for the position. Eldredge was named Santa Ana Star Casino’s interim general manager after the departure of former General Manager Conrad Granito and has been performing the functions of both general manager and his previous position of director of marketing and transportation since August 15, 2008.
“Tamaya Enterprises is excited to promote Scott to the role of Santa Ana Star Casino’s general manager after an extensive candidate search. While we interviewed several well-qualified applicants from throughout the United States, Scott’s performance as interim general manager convinced us that he is capable of leading the casino. His background in casino management and marketing combined with the respect and support he has received from the casino’s directors and managers makes him the perfect fit as our new general manger,” said Aaron Armijo, chairman for Tamaya Enterprises, Inc.
“I am honored to be named general manager for one of New Mexico’s leading Native American casinos and for an organization that is considered one of the state’s best places to work,” said Scott Eldredge, general manager for Santa Ana Star Casino. “With the downturn in the economy, it will be more important than ever to provide our guests with a value-oriented entertainment choice while underscoring the importance of responsible gaming.”
Eldredge replaces Granito who became the general manager of the Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana last August. “I have huge shoes to fill. Under Conrad’s management, the casino more than doubled its revenue and received numerous industry awards,” said Eldredge. “However, I am up to the task. With nearly 20-years experience in casino marketing and management, along with my experience working with the Maloof’s casinos and resorts, it has provided me with the leadership skills and abilities necessary to direct the strategic growth of Santa Ana Star Casino and manage our operation in the weakened economy. I look forward to working closely with our board of directors and the management team to continue our success in the marketplace.”
Prior to joining Santa Ana Star Casino four years ago, Eldredge was the corporate director of marketing for Golden Gaming, a Nevada-based casino and resort company. He began his professional career in the gaming and hospitality industry working for the Maloof Companies in New Mexico and Colorado, and spent 12 years in Las Vegas, NV with several organizations before returning home to Albuquerque. Eldredge graduated from St. Pius X High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from New Mexico Highlands University. He also received All-American honors as a free safety for the New Mexico Highlands Football Team.
