New vice president of training at Reno-based Raving Consulting

Patrick Covellhas joined Reno-based Raving Consulting as its new vice president of training, Covell will work with Raving Service President Steve Browne on guest service and training programs, as well as other Raving initiatives.

Covell spent more than eight years with Jackpot Junction Casino in Morton, Minn., where he helped open new restaurant and bar operations at the property’s Dacotah Ridge Golf Club, and later became Jackpot Junction’s training manager - a position he held for more than seven and a half years.

“I’ve known and worked with Steve for more than five years. I had him come out and he and I did some really cool programs at Jackpot Junction. Together, we created a guest service game show. It was a blast, and the program is still alive today,” Covell said. “I’m really looking forward to working with a great team at Raving. Everyone works together well, and this seems like a positive organization with huge growth potential.”

Browne said Covell is well-equipped to help Raving expand its guest service and training offerings. “As training manager for a large and successful casino/resort in the Midwest, he has worked the gamut of training needs from the simple but mundane tasks of regulatory training to creating a powerful and branded customer service program (The WOW Program). We welcome him and look forward to having him expand Raving's abilities within the critical training arena of tribal and commercial gaming.”

Raving Consulting President and Chief Strategist Dennis Conrad said Covell’s extensive training experience made him a natural choice for the Raving position.

“He was brought on specifically to support one of the fastest growing areas of Raving’s business - the building of customer service programs, the training of casino hosts, the building of the Slot Ambassador program we’ve created and more,” Conrad said. “Casinos are recognizing they can no longer afford to have mediocre service or even pretty good service. Great service is a must in this environment, and there’s a lot of revenue to be made if you can achieve that.”
