Appointed president of Tropicana Las Vegas

Tropicana Las Vegas has appointed Thomas J. McCartney president of the resort casino. McCartney will oversee operations as Tropicana Las Vegas undergoes the first phase of a $125 million renovation and rebranding. He brings more than 27 years of industry experience to the position. He most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Prior to joining Planet Hollywood he spent 12 years with MGM Mirage in senior leadership roles, helping to open New York-New York and spearheading the Luxor’s repositioning efforts. Previously, he spent 14 years at various Caesars World properties, including Caesars Atlantic City, where he served as vice president of hotel operations. He is a member of the Starbucks National Advisory Board of Licensees and the American Hotel Lodging Association. He also serves as a board member for Three Square Food Bank, a non-profit community organization serving southern Nevada.
