Stratosphere Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has appointed Joseph Thompson general manager of Top of the World Restaurant. Thompson brings more than 30 years of experience to the position. He is a former GM of Alan Albert’s Vintage Steakhouse and The Rosewood Grille, both in Las Vegas, and was also proprietor and chef of Rafters restaurant in Las Vegas. He is a former food service director and executive chef for ARA Food Services Las Vegas Convention Center/George Moscone Convention Center San Francisco. He holds an associate’s degree in hotel/restaurant management from City College of San Francisco and is a graduate of the Culinary Arts Apprenticeship Program at San Francisco Olympic Club. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco.
