Company's July 16 launch is first of several competing VLT operations in the country
Spielo Manufacturing ULC is the first gaming solutions supplier to deploy a video lottery terminal (VLT) network in the new Italian Comma 6B VLT market.
Spielo is providing its full end-to-end gaming solution to Italian VLT concessionaire Lottomatica Videolot Rete S.p.A. The system was officially launched on July 16, with more launches planned in the coming weeks. Spielo’s solution is the first among a number of competing suppliers’ solutions to be authorized for deployment on behalf of multiple concessionaires by L'Amministrazione autonoma dei monopoli di Stato (AAMS).
“The Italian VLT market arose quickly in response to a need to create new revenues,” said Spielo President and CEO Victor Duarte. “Spielo responded to the demands of this new market with speed, diligence, and flexibility, tailoring its solution to the market’s unique requirements and working closely with our partner, Lottomatica Videolot Rete, to successfully pass Italy’s comprehensive, multistage regulatory process. “We’re very proud to be the first to market in Italy, and look forward to being a key supplier to concessionaires as a successful VLT program evolves.”
Spielo is supplying its open standards-based INTELLIGEN central system, its i-LINK retailer terminal, prodiGi Vu and WinWave Vu terminals, and a library of games.
The deployment of INTELLIGEN in the Italian VLT market enables the world’s first use of Game to System (G2S) protocol messages in a distributed gaming environment. Spielo, a platinum member of the Gaming Standards Association, was the first supplier to create G2S extensions that meet distributed gaming environments’ unique needs.
G2S is a communications protocol that allows communication between a host and gaming machines. Spielo’s INTELLIGEN central system permits game downloading from the host to gaming machines distributed throughout a geographic area, while also giving customers the power to remotely configure and manage gaming machines connected to the host.
Spielo is also deploying its systemwide and venue-linked jackpot system in the Italian VLT market. This fully configurable jackpot system can be adapted to any VLT game type and to any size venue. Players have the chance of winning jackpots at one of three jackpot levels: the easy and super levels, which are venue-specific, and the mega jackpot, a life-changing cash amount awarded to a lucky player playing any VLT in any Italian venue connected to the jackpot system.
