First Wincity facility, in central Milan, offers 100 slot machines, a restaurant and a bar

Sisal SpA, owned by Apax Partners Worldwide LLP and Permira Advisers LLP, has opened the first of six casino-style outlets planned for Italy as it adds new services in preparation for an initial public offering, according to a report by Bloomberg Businessweek.

Sisal’s first Wincity, in central Milan, offers 100 slot machines, a restaurant and a bar. The company plans to open another five shops by the first quarter of 2011, a company official said.

Chief Executive Officer Emilio Petrone said he expects Sisal, which offers online gaming, lotteries and betting, to post “double-digit” sales growth this year after revenue rose 28 percent to 426 million euros ($553 million) in 2009. Sisal is bidding for Snai SpA, Italy’s largest racetrack manager.

The next Wincity facility to open will be in Rome, followed by Turin, Brescia, Verona and Pescara.
