News and notes from the international slot industry

The Fortune Football promotion at the Isle of Capri property in Lula, Miss. has proven a big success.

AGameMarketing hits right note for Isle of Capri properties

Isle of Capri casino properties in Mississippi are finding success wowing patrons with marketing promotions developed by Dallas-based AGameMarketing.

Isle of Capri Lula was the first Isle property to use the AGameMarketing promotions, starting off with a mammoth promotion that Isle’s ad agency dubbed chaChingaMillion.

AGame built a 12-foot-tall spectacular promotional device with multiple video screens as large as 82 inches. The promotion allows qualified players an opportunity to spin for up to $1 million cash. The promotion also was uploaded to Isle of Capri’s YouTube channel, offering additional social media benefits.

It did so well at Lula that two other Isle properties, Isle of Capri Natchez and Isle Casino and Racing Pompano Park also have signed up for the promotion. chaChingaMillion is currently being used at Natchez, and a similar promotion will go live sometime in November at Pompano, Brian said.

Now Isle of Capri Lula has launched another AGameMarketing promotion called Fortune Football, the first in a series of 40 animated promotions which ultimately can be played on giant projector screens in showrooms and output throughout an entire casino’s plasma screens or made into simple standalone kiosk systems for player daily interaction, data collection, rewards redemption and overall fun player experience combined with ease of use and convenience for guest and casino alike. Other promotion titles include Haunted House of Cash, Swipe A Fortune and iMillions.

AGameMarketing also has been in negotiations with slot manufacturers and loyalty system providers as well as gift and ad specialty firms for strategic alliances and potential joint ventures.

“Getting these first three up and running with Isle has been big,” said Bobby Brian, CEO of AGameMarketing and a former executive with SCA Promotions.

As entertainment options have multiplied, casinos are looking for ways to engage and reward their players. “What’s changed is the level of entertainment they can experience in the world around them is pretty darn strong,” Brian said. “We try to celebrate the player during the promotion to whatever degree they want to be celebrated. We try to give them their 15 minutes of fame and try to reward them with just a really fun, entertaining experience.”

Brian noted that players want to be communicated with as efficiently as possible. “They want to be understood, and that means collecting data and using it intelligently,” he said.

JCM provides Samsung solution for video wall

Revelers at a 200th birthday concert tribute to Chopin in Las Vegas recently were dazzled by the concert, both because of the incredible performances and because of the stunning visuals of the concert broadcast on a video wall solution provided by JCM Global.

The early October concert was staged at the Springs Preserve Amphitheater in Las Vegas by the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Las Vegas as a benefit for the Polish School John Paul II in Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra. Concert-goers, who included Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Los Angeles Joanna Kozinska-Frybes, Honorary Consul of the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Las Vegas John Petkus, a large contingent from the Nevada Consular Corps and 1,500 guests, enjoyed the show as it was broadcast live on a large video wall provided by JCM Global.

JCM provided a 2x2 Samsung video wall comprised of the 460UXn-2 model. This video product has a thin bezel, allowing the monitors to be configured as a video wall with minimal bezel interference. This solution allowed concert-goers to enjoy live high definition video feeds during the concert and enabled the producers to run advertising on screen prior to the artists taking the stage.

Petkus, who has worked with JCM on other projects, reached out to JCM to provide a video wall product that would enhance the concert. “I have trusted JCM for more than 17 years for their technical expertise. With this concert, I had a specific need, and I entrusted JCM Global and was thrilled with the way the video wall enhanced our event,” he said.

JCM Product Manager Jeff Gray noted that in situations where customers need a reliable product that has an absolute wow effect, they turn to JCM and to Samsung’s technology. “This event proved the flexibility of the video wall technology and its amazing ability to impress a crowd,” he said.

IGT signs deal with Barona for sbX Tier One System

International Game Technology has signed a sbX Tier One agreement with Barona Resort and Casino located near San Diego, Calif.

“IGT is excited to continue our working relationship with Barona Resort and Casino. sbX products have added a new way for them to continue delivering the highest level of customer service that their casino is known for throughout the industry,” said Ron Rivera, IGT senior vice president of North American sales.

“The sbX Tier One system offers casinos, like Barona, a series of server-based gaming solutions to manage their slot machine floors,” he said.

The Tier One Package includes sbX Floor Manager and is available on IGT’s AVP machine models. sbX Floor Manager allows access to the industry’s largest Game-to-System game library and lets operators reconfigure a casino floor with the touch of a button. As part of Barona’s Tier One Package, sbX Floor Manager is live on 100 machines at Barona and the casino has more than 200 games to choose from in the IGT Game Library, with new games released monthly.

“With the addition of sbX, we at Barona have an advantage over our competition because we have the ability to quickly identify and adapt to our guests’ needs. We may see our guests choosing one type of game over another and, with sbX, we can quickly change directions on game types to meet their demands. With Tier One, we are not dependant on the next mail delivery to configure a new, hot game – it is simply a matter of scheduling a few minutes in the server room to adapt our games to the ever-changing preferences of our guests,” said Chuck Hickey, vice president of slot operations at Barona Resort and Casino.
