Industry veteran E. Brian Hansberry will be the new president of Delaware North Companies Gaming & Entertainment replacing William Bissett, who is retiring later this year after assisting with the executive transition in the role of chairman of the gaming division. Bissett has led Delaware North Companies Gaming & Entertainment to unprecedented growth since becoming president in 2007, including the 2011 addition of Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in Rock Island, Ill., construction of a new gaming and racing venue in Ohio and major expansions of several of its casino properties.

Hansberry comes to Delaware North with more than 30 years of senior-level leadership in the gaming industry, including president and CEO positions. His experience includes operations, strategic planning and capital development. Most recently, Hansberry spent three years at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif.—initially serving as general manager before accepting a promotion to chief operating officer (COO) after being credited with turning around the flagship property. He has also served in executive and management roles at Seneca Gaming Corp.; Players Island Casino in Lake Charles, La.; Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles; Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City; and Resorts International.



ICE Totally Gaming, the Clarion Events-managed B2B gaming trade event, has added to its sales and marketing team with the appointments of John Hodgkinsand David Roberts.

Hodgkins assumes the post of sales manager reporting to sales director Jason Miller. He joins the ICE team bringing with him 14-years of commercial experience working with a raft of blue chip clients in both Europe and Asia. His in-depth knowledge of the international gaming industry includes account management of betting partnerships on behalf of numerous Premiership football clubs. Hodgkins also worked with Reed Exhibitions (Hong Kong), where he ran the sales and sponsorship team working on G2E Asia.

Roberts, who has 18-years experience working across a range of international B2B and B2Cevents, has joined Clarion’s gaming team as event director. Roberts, whose previous job was as industry group manager for the United Arab Emirates-based Dubai World Trade Centre, will work across Clarion’s gaming brands, reporting to portfolio director Kate Chambers. As event director he will be responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of all Clarion Gaming events from both a commercial and an operational perspective.



Albuquerque, N.M.-based The Downs Racetrack & Casino has named Darrin Pachman director of casino operations and Abel Avila director of food and beverage. 

Pachman will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of the casino, from gaming and slots to working with the food and beverage outlets as well as casino employees to ensure a great guest experience.  Pachman returns to New Mexico from Trinidad and Tobago where he was regional slot director for Sunny Group of Companies (MaPau Clubs and Casinos).  He also worked at Santa Ana Star Casino on the Santa Ana Pueblo in New Mexico as slot manager between 2003 and 2010.

Originally from Atlantic City, N.J., Pachman began his career in the gaming industry nearly 25 years ago working at Transatlantic Games as a slot machine technician.  He also served as a technical manager at the Casinos Austria Maritime, a casino cruise in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.  In addition, Pachman traveled to Jericho, Palestine where he was part of the opening team for the Oasis Hotel Casino resort as director of slots and technical services.

Avila will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of the food and beverage outlets available at both the casino and racetrack, from determining menu options at the casino’s The Crown Room fine dining restaurant and food court to managing employees and supervising the operations of the concession stands and bars located at the racetrack.  Avila joins The Downs Racetrack & Casino from Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino, located on the Pueblo of Pojoaque, where he was executive director of food and beverage. 



Win Systems has announced the appointment of Eric Benchimol as CEO of the group after serving for several years as COO of the company. With a degree in economics and business administration from the University of Barcelona, and a Masters in International Finance, Benchimol has over 15 years of experience in the gaming and entertainment industry. This appointment is part of the expansion and reorganization of the Win Systems group, in which Dario Zutel will become executive chairman of the group.



The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance, formerly the Nevada Development Authority, announced that Kathy Parker has been appointed to the position of senior executive administrator and Free Trade Zone coordinator.

 Parker will provide operational and administrative support to the LVGEA Executive Committee and Board of Trustees and all sub-committees. Her role as the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Coordinator is to ensure compliance of the principle responsibilities of the grantee for Foreign Trade Zone 89. She also assists the EVP Economic Development.
