Hnedak Bobo Group has been creating highly-competitive and exciting casino properties for Tribal and Commercial gaming clients for 34 years. The 90-person, Memphis, Tenn.- based firm prides itself on being open-minded, technology-savvy and people-focused. A G2E Casino Design Award-winning provider of architecture and interior design and a TOP 10 entertainment and hospitality design firm in the United States, the firm has been recognized with more than 200 design and industry awards and lauded for its business approach winning multiple Architecture/Engineering industry “Top 50 Hot Firm” awards and three national A/E “Best Places to Work” awards.
For HBG, thinking differently about casino resort design begins with knowing what it takes to operate a competitive property. HBG is one of the few architecture firms working in gaming today to own, operate and develop their own four-star hotel: a highly successful Westin hotel located within a thriving entertainment district. Principals at HBG like to refer to it as "an experiential laboratory for operational efficiency and design innovation." Members of HBG's design team are able to access day-to-day, real-time insights into the workings of an upscale property to thoroughly understand the implications design decisions have on every aspect of operations and the guest experience. The team puts into practice key strategies to help their clients differentiate in a competitive market by leveraging their own market-proven experience.
HBG is also known for thinking differently when it comes to project delivery. The firm launched a separate hotel brand and development company in 2010, DreamCatcher Hotels, which recently opened its first property at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana. They have also introduced CasinoNow, a unique technology-driven casino design approach developed to accelerate the total project delivery time - giving HBG's clients a ‘head-start’ to realizing gaming revenues sooner. The firm began developing CasinoNow in 2009 and has dedicated over four years of research and development to further refine their approach, which they will be demonstrating at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas this fall.
Active supporters of NIGA, NCAI and regional Indian Gaming Associations such as OIGA and CNIGA, last year, HBG was recognized as the NIGA Associate Member of the Year. The firm is committed to supporting the Indian Gaming industry in ways that go beyond architecture, through NIGA initiatives and advocacies, and is constantly seeking new and creative ways to give back. In 2012, the firm raised $10,000 for the Spirit of Sovereignty scholarship fund, and this past summer partnered with other Memphis-based businesses to help raise $35,000 through a fundraiser benefiting Oklahoma tornado victims - a state where the firm has designed multiple projects and has built meaningful relationships.
HBG's hallmark is delivering well-crafted design and smart, market-supported projects for their clients. Their philosophy is to design more than just buildings for their clients - by thinking differently, HBG designs investments and creates lasting value for building owners and their guests.
