Following the launch and successful deployment of the Windows version of the Intel Carbon X220, X2 have added this latest Android version of the device to their product offering for those customers who have systems better suited to an Android based platform.
X2’s new Android version of the Carbon X220 tablet is powered by an ARM Cortex A9 quad core 1.8GHz CPU with up to 2GB DDR3 SDRAM and up to 128GB SSD storage. With a 10.1-inch toughened widescreen LED touchscreen display and featuring an integrated graphics processor that delivers high quality images at up to 1200 x 800 resolution in either landscape or portrait formats, controlled through a gyro accelerometer. The display options support capacitive multi touch or resistive single touch. Carbon directly connects to networks using 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless with enterprise encryption technology.
Running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or the latest 4.4 Kit-Kat version gives customers all the benefits and features associated with a Linux-based platform. With battery life a key consideration in many business decisions the Android version of Carbon X220 offers lower overall power consumption and consequently and extended battery life. The fanless device also allows fast roaming and features four hardware pixel shaders for enhanced 2D and 3D realistic graphics.
