RPM Advertising’s CEO Steve Platcow, company president Mark Malin and their “Sloterator” were recently featured on American Restoration, one of the History Channel’s most popular shows where, in celebration of their 20th anniversary, the RPM executives challenged the restoration team to convert a vintage slot machine into a Sloterator, a functional slot machine that would store a keg and dispense beer for company happy hours.
RPM, a nationwide advertising agency for the gaming industry, will unveil the Sloterator at a cocktail reception for the RPM Advertising team members on April 1, 2014. April Fool’s Day is the agency’s actual anniversary date.
"Due to the dedication of our team members to RPM Advertising's client?partners businesses everyone misses a lot of happy hours and the Sloterator helps make up for that it in a super fun way," said Platcow.
On the show, which aired earlier this month, Platcow and Malin met with show host Rick Dale of Rick’s Restorations in Las Vegas to present him the challenge. Rick’s wife Kelly Dale managed the project. She met with a slot machine technician to work out the technical issues involved with the conversion to ensure that the functionality of the device remains intact throughout the restoration. The finished project was a beer?dispensing Sloterator with customer beer related theming, plus a few extra bells and whistles.
