Harrah's Metropolis Casino & Hotel is set to unveil a new look this November when the resort opens doors to its relocated casino floor.
Conveniently located adjacent to the hotel's main lobby, the modern design, single-level casino floor will feature new slots, table games and a World Series of Poker room. The opening will also bring the addition of a new restaurant, lounge, three new bars and a live entertainment stage to the property. A celebratory weekend planned for Nov. 19-23 will commemorate the long-anticipated relocation of the current casino from its original dockside home.
"Harrah's Metropolis has long-served as an entertainment center for southern Illinois," said Brad Hirsch, Harrah's Metropolis senior vice president and general manager. "With the addition of a new restaurant and lounge as well as upgraded gaming area, we will continue our tradition of providing guests with the region's premier hospitality and entertainment experiences. Following months of hard work, our team is looking forward to introducing our frequent guests as well as new friends to this first-class facility."
"Harrah's Metropolis Casino & Hotel has definitely become an indispensable part of the community and has played a vital role in the growth of Metropolis since opening the doors in 1993," said Metropolis Mayor Billy McDaniel. "The city is excited for the new Harrah's Metropolis casino and looks forward to the positive changes they are bringing with the new facility."
Grand opening festivities to celebrate the new space will begin Wednesday, Nov. 19 and continue throughout the weekend with an all-star line-up of live music, special events and promotions.
Harrah's Metropolis' current dockside casino and restaurants are open to the public and will continue to welcome guests until the grand opening weekend. The Range Steakhouse and fresh Buffet are open to all ages while Ace's Diner is open to those 21 and up. For more information, visit HarrahsMetropolis.com.
