102714_CosmoIceRink_300Once again, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas transforms the Boulevard Pool into a winter wonderland, The Ice Rink. Featuring falling snow, ice skating, fire pits and a collection of favorite winter cocktails and seasonal food offerings, the intimate lodge experience returns high above Las Vegas Boulevard on Friday, Nov. 21.

This year The Ice Rink will feature a new experience on the Las Vegas Strip – snow showers. Under a light blanket of falling snow, visitors will experience showers throughout the evening while skating, roasting s’mores by the fire and taking in the sights and sounds of Las Vegas Boulevard. Also new this year is an expanded skating area of over 4,200 square feet of real ice. A limited number of season passes ($60) that include unlimited skating access and skate rentals for the entire season will be available. A light snowfall will occur every 30 minutes Thursday – Sunday evenings between 6 and 10 p.m. throughout December.

Making a return are The Ice Rink’s popular ‘Date Skate’ Mondays where visitors can experience a date night on ice as three beloved holiday movies such as A Christmas Story, Elf and Miracle on 34th Street are shown each Monday night on the resort’s digital marquee, ‘Industry Skate on The Strip’ Wednesdays where DJ’s turn the rink into unique outdoor nightlife experience, and ‘Throwback Thursdays’ giving guests the opportunity to dig out their leg warmers and disco gear as they skate the night away to music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

The winter haven will feature curated cocktails such as the Campfire Delight, created with Patron XO, crème de cacao, RumChata and marshmallow. Seasonal food offerings including grilled cheese, tomato soup, a chili bread bowl and more are sure to warm things up, along with the return of the immensely popular fireside s’mores kit.

The Ice Rink will be open Nov. 21 - Jan. 4. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 3 p.m. to midnight and Saturday – Sunday from noon to midnight. Special holiday hours of noon to midnight will be in effect Dec. 22 – Jan. 2. All day skating access is $10 for Nevada residents and $15 for non-residents. Visitors are allowed to bring their own skates or can rent a pair for $5. Skate aid rentals are also available for $10. Admission to the unique winter atmosphere surrounding The Ice Rink is free.
